How to Fix CD-Rom Missing Problem in XP~

I was installing my new DVD Writer and both my CD-Rom and DVD-Rom are missing in My Computer. But then when I open the Device Manager both of them are there. The only message I saw in the properties of both CD and DVD-Roms is this:

Message:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Due to the corrupted registry, it caused the CD/DVD-Rom unaccessible. This is the solution that worked for me which I found it from Microsoft Website. You need to delete 2 registry values. Continue reading ‘How to Fix CD-Rom Missing Problem in XP~’

How to Install a DVD Writer~

Since I’ve installed my old DVD Writer in the computer at my hometown, I need to get a new one for my own computer. So I bought a Sony DRU-830A DVD Writer today at the cost of RM128. The price for these writers is much cheaper compared to the price I bought a year ago. So this is how the DVD writer looks like.

PayPerPost Acquires Performancing.com~

PPPPayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers, videographers, photographers, podcasters and social networks, today announced it has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire select assets of Performancing LLC, operator of Performancing.com, a popular Internet community site for professional bloggers. Through its purchase PayPerPost gains a number of powerful blogger support tools including Performancing Metrics, the leading, free blog analytics service, and Performancing Exchange, an online “classifieds” for bloggers.

Written and maintained by individuals who make their living in the blogging trade, Performancing.com has amassed a community of over 28,000 professionals since its launch in 2005. In addition to information and discussion on the subject of professional blogging, the site provides a means for advertisers to connect with bloggers and place ads on their weblogs based on the site’s subject matter, readership and ad pricing.

PayPerPost will not acquire two assets including the Performancing for Firefox blog editor technology and the Performancing Partners ad technology. The two assets will migrate to a new brand.

This would be a big news for PPP members because this means that PPP are growing stronger now. The stronger PPP grows, the more bloggers will earn as bloggers are paid to blog about the topics that advertisers want them to.

Performancing Metrics, which is a visitor tracker platform is very useful for website users. I actually am still using it to track how many visitors visits my site and the traffic everyday. They even provide feed alerts to show you the reports from time to time. Performancing Exchange is a free online marketplace for companies, blog sites and others wishing to employ professional bloggers. The classifieds have brought a number of bloggers and employers together for both short-term and long-term relationships.
In my opinion, by acquiring Performancing, PPP will have more advertisers that give us, the bloggers more chances to earn more money from writing posts. The topics will be increased which make us much easier to choose topics according to our blog theme. This will help us to earn more revenue for our blogs or maximize our earnings by tweaking the things that we are already doing. Good job PPP~!

Christmas Eve~

Merry Christmas! This is a late post on my Christmas celebration on the Christmas Eve. At first Keat, Shin and me were so bored and we decided to go KL to join some celebration by LRT. But in the end, we went to IKEA for dinner because no one want to join us. So sad for a Christmas eve huh?

Nothing much actually. We had some Swedish Meatballs and Fish & Chips.

IMG 3071

The food was delicious, but we were stuffed with too many meatballs… haha.. After having dinner, the 3 of us went walking around IKEA to look for some furniture for Shin’s new rented place.

IMG 3076

Just after that, we received calls from our friends saying they were coming over to The Curve to meet us. It became a gathering for all of us in the end. They said there would be fireworks in The Curve that’s why the place is so crowded with people.

There was a tall Christmas tree inside the center court of The Curve. The decoration is beautiful in a blue theme. So we started ‘camwhoring’ while waiting the friends to come.

Finally… they came.

All of us had some drinks while waiting for the countdown. Well, there wasn’t any celebration at all that night at The Curve. Everyone gathered in front of Cineleisure hoping to see some fireworks but there was nothing.. haha~ To heat up the night, all of us went to Rush (clubbing) after the so called “countdown”. We had some great times there, but not after we got drunk… That… was a disaster..

Accident and Traffic Jam~

I was on the way back from KL to Skudai this afternoon and guess what… I was stuck in the traffic jam just before Muar on the highway for more than half an hour in the rain. Why?
dsc01009.JPG

That’s right. This accident had blocked the path and caused a massive traffic jam for at least 2km I think. The lorry flipped over after being knocked by the lorry behind. The road was covered with palm and the workers were busy cleaning up the mess.

The rain in southern Peninsular Malaysia is really causing a lot of problem lately. From what I heard in the news, there are still 40,000 people staying at the shelter waiting for the flood to stop. It is still raining now since I came back this afternoon. Scary… Hopefully things will get better after this.

My Mom’s Primary School~

How does your primary school looked like? Any memories of it? Do you remember the name of that school? My mom was a headmaster of a primary school. Why I say WAS? Because she just retired last week after working as a teacher for 37 years. That’s really a long time. So last week I fetched my mom to her school in Kampung Pelawan, Perak. She used to travel from Teluk Intan to Kampung Pelawan everyday which is around 20km distance away.

The school is situated in a small village, where there are only around 100 – 200 students studying here. Very small school right?

After passing the main gate, this is the place where the students have their morning assembly.

Oh ya, my mom parks her car under this shade everyday.

The classrooms… Kind of reminding me of my primary school days where teachers writing on the blackboard with chalks, we have to clean the blackboard with duster, sweep the dusty floor, and of course, studying on the table with lots of drawings and cravings on it.. haha…

The canteen is really small too. Enough for all the students to have their meals.

DSC01004

Nice little pond in the school area. The students here always hang around the school even after classes. They will go home and have a bath, then cycle back into the school and play around everything they can play with. Sometimes it make me think that living in a small village is not a bad thing after all. Life is much slower and easier here comparing to the cities.
