NBA Season Started!~

itsgametime_250x151.gifIt’s game time!! The new season of NBA started on 31st of October. Its the opening week from 31st of Oct until the 6th of Nov where lots of BIG games going on. Starting up with the defending champion, Miami Heat versus Chicago Bulls as the premiere of the NBA Opening Week.

TNT’s coverage of the Heat-Bulls game, which highlights the ring ceremony for the 2006 NBA Champions, is the first of Premiere Week’s 12 nationally televised games including five straight nights of doubleheaders. The Lakers host the Suns in the second game of TNT’s opening night double-header.

So who will be the champion for the new season? The defending champion Miami Heats? The Lakers? Or my favourite team, Detroit Pistons? Well there is still a long way to go to see which team performs the best.

It was a very sad news that Ben Wallace, the best center defense player, had left Pistons to the Bulls. I really miss those defense combinations of Rasheed Wallace with him. Pistons had signed up a new center player, Nazr Mohammed, a player who played for San Antonio Spurs for the last 2 seasons. Hopefully Pistons can still be the best defensive team in the whole league. With Nazr around, I think Pistons will be more focus into the offensive part as Big Ben does more in defense rather than being offensive.

The Detroit Pistons will be having their first home game tonight versus the Milwaukee Bucks. I hope Pistons will get a better result than the previous season.. hehe… Pistons Rocks!

Disastrous Day for Chelsea Goalkeepers~

_42200400_carlo203.jpgChelsea’s goalkeeper Petr Cech underwent surgery for a depressed fracture of the skull after being knocked unconscious in Chelsea’s victory at Reading on Saturday.

Cech was injured in a first-minute collision with Stephen Hunt at the Madejski Stadium, whose boot caught Cech on the head when he went to collect the ball. Later on in the injury time, Carlo Cudicini, the replacement goalkeeper was also knocked out following a collision with Ibrahima Sonko. What a shock! The game was held up for nearly 10 minutes as Cudicini received treatment and he was carried off with his neck in a brace, wearing an oxygen mask.

Its been a long time to watch such a furious game from Chelsea. Essien was out of the game just after half time after being booked with 2 yellow cards. The game went on with 10 men against Reading’s 11. Since the 2 goalkeepers were out of the game, so who replaced the position then??

Its the Chelsea’s captain, John Terry!~ I bet you won’t see this much in the whole EPL season. Chelsea claimed a 1-0 win after a deflected free-kick by Frank Lampard in the first half. Lucky day for Lampard, disastrous for the 2 keepers~

Italy – World Cup 2006 Winner~

italy.jpg
After 64 football matches, the World Cup 2006 Champion is born~! Italy won the 2006 World Cup after defeating the French with 5-3 penalty shootouts. It was a great match. France was awarded a penalty in the 7th minute after Materazzi’s trip on Florent Malouda and Zidane scored the penalty leading France with 1-0 lead. By the 19th minute, however, Materazzi had made amends, the big defender heading the equaliser from Andrea Pirlo’s corner.

Marco Materazzi, the hero who scored the equalizer.

The French played extremely well in the 2nd half but still unable to score a goal. The extra time would be the worst moment for Zidane’s career as he was sent off because of headbutting Materazzi.

Foolish act? Oh ya.. he should be in the WWE Championship after his retirement.. lol.

Italy won 5-3 penalty shootouts against France in the end after Trezeguet missed the 2nd penalty, which Italy never win a penalty shootouts before.

Italy are deserved world champions after this narrowest of triumphs over France. In doing so, they buried the ghosts of USA 94 and climbed above Germany as the most successful European team in FIFA World Cup history with four wins. For France and Zidane there was no fairy-tale ending and instead they are left to reflect on a bitter ending to an unexpectedly long adventure.

A great victory for Italy I say… Congratulations to Italy!

For the first time in the team’s history, Miami Heat won the NBA Champion title in Game 6 against Dallas Mavericks. Dallas was leading the 7 game series with 2-0 but Miami then claimed the title by winning 4 games in a row. Dwayne Wade who scored 43 points in game 5, scored 36 points in game 6, helping Miami to win the title.

Wade on the move~

“I don’t want to say I put the team on my back. You know, we did it together. Like Coach said, like we’ve all been saying, it’s been 15 strong,” Wade said. “They gave me the opportunity by putting the ball in my hands to prove people wrong. When I came [into] the series, it was, I can’t shoot. I don’t know where they got that from. So I proved to them I can shoot, and then after that, I proved I can play, and that’s all I tried to do: prove people wrong.”

Dirk Nowitzki from Dallas on the other hand scored 29 points and 15 rebounds. Miami was struggling to catch up with Dallas and they was leading with 1 point when the 1st half ended. When the game ended, Miami won with 95-92. What a great win for Miami, at least Detroit Pistons lost to the NBA Champion during the East Conference Finals.. ( Detroit is my favorite team FYI..)

Neh neh.. you want the ball? Come get it if you can even reach it.. lol.. Shaq trying to pass the ball to other teammates..

As expected, Miami’s best player Dwayne Wade won the MVP title. This is his first win for NBA Champions and also a MVP.

Strange to see a post on NBA while everyone is in their FIFA World Cup fever huh?

Heat heading for the Finals~

Sad sad… Detroit Pistons lost to the Miami Heat in the eastern conference finals with a score of 78-95 in Game 6. Miami Heat is now in the finals after leading with 4-2 wins in the 7 games series. Richard Hamilton scored a sky high 33 points but he was the only player who scored more than 10 points. Billups was definitely in a low form in this game which he only scored 9 points. I guess this really proved that Miami is a better team after all.

“Miami played great,” Hamilton said. “They deserved it.”

And the proud Pistons weren’t shy about showing their respect to the new East champs. Rasheed Wallace hugged several Miami players before leaving the court, and Tayshaun Prince said “Miami was definitely the better team.”

“I don’t want to make excuses,” Pistons guard Chauncey Billups said. “They flat-out beat us.”

Well enough of these.. lets see some photos then.

Football night~

Its the match that we had waited for all time, Chelsea versus Barcelona! Well Barcelona had won the previous match where they scored 2 away goals over with 1 home goal from Chelsea. So this match its either Chelsea needs to score at least 2 away goals in order to win the match to enter the semifinals of the Champions League. The matched started at 3.45am and my housemates and I were staying awake just to watch it.

lol.. Its me holding a tiger beer~ My housemate bought a carton of tiger beer last few days and we were drinking it while waiting for the match to start. I was studying my microcontroller programming thingy while waiting for it.

What were they doing then? They were playing cards and eating the groundnuts~ lol.. Soon after that the match started. It was 0-0 in the first half and I was quite blur already as I drank almost 4tins of the beer… zzz… It was quite boring 1st half as there were only a few offence with lots of defence. As soon as the match ended, I was really tired and blur and I slept in their room.

The match ended with 1-1 where Ronaldhino scored a goal in the mid of 2nd half while Lampard scored a penalty almost at the last minute of the game. Game over for Chelsea while Barcelona is now in the semifinals. Upcoming match tonight, Arsenal versus Real Madrid. I don’t think I’ll be watching it since I got class at 9am tomorrow morning.

Chelsea Vs Arsenal~

I just finish watching the match and its already 2am. Chelsea was unbeatable with Robben and Joe Cole scores a goal each and won over Arsenal with the score of 2-0. Chelsea did a marvelous job on defending in the whole game. Van Persie of Arsenal did score a goal in the 1st half but unfortunately Thierry Henry was offside at that moment. The goal should be counted as the scorer was not offside at all~! Its the referee’s call so there’s nothing can be done. Its a must win game for Arsenal for challenging the championship but now its goodbye before Christmas for them. I doubt that they can enter the Champions League next year… Its been a bad season for them after all.. Chelsea is now 20points ahead of Arsenal and is in the lead of the season. The only team that can compete with them is Manchester United trailing with a few points.

Another game before this was between Tottenham Hotspurs and Middlesbrough. Its a 3-3 tie game with 6 skillful shots~ James Morrison was injured at the near end of the game. I’m really shocked of what happened because he collapsed just after a free kick. None of the cameras caught what happened but its really shocking that he just lying there unconsious.. Really have to be extra careful in sports…
