Link Exchanging?~

There’s been some hot topics on the 50 Most Influential Blogs in Malaysia that most bloggers don’t quite agree on the term, influential. I think it should be named Top 50 Blogs in Malaysia. That would be better since those blogs don’t really “influent” the readers anyway. Since then, bloggers were trying to increase their page rank or popularity or traffic (or whatever they are trying to do) by doing some link building to their blog. Why should I be left out from this πŸ™‚ ? I will offer some tips to increase page rank and popularity of a site as well as increasing mine at the same time here.

The page rank for a blog is actually depends on the number of websites linking to yours. So the more, the better, but it also depends on the category similiarity of the websites that linked to yours. For example, if a food blog linked to a technology blog, the category the blogs are not same and it will not increase your page rank. How to make more websites or blogs link to your blog? You can actually do some link exchanging program by providing a link back to the site linked to yours. Most people do this calling it blogrolling by adding links on their sidebar. For my blog, I’ve created a link page just for link exchange. If you want to exchange link with me, just add my blog to your blogroll and contact me. I will add your link to the page as soon as possible.

technoratiTechnorati ranks blogs by determining the number of links from blogs linking to it. So practically by doing link exchanging might help a bit for getting a better ranking. Another way to get to the top is asking your readers to add your site as their technorati favorites. The top 100 blogs in Technorati are actually blogs that have the most readers that add their blogs as favorites. So if you want to improve your technorati rankings, try adding my blog as your favorites and I will add yours as mine as well. πŸ˜‰

What’s the point of exchanging links or gathering incoming links when your content isn’t even good? I don’t understand why people would want to increase their page ranks or whatever ranking when the content that they have are mostly things you can find on other pages. I rather have original content that I can read and relate to.

Heck, some of the best content on the web have just average PR and Technorati standings.

You really want to know how to get a chunk load of incoming links? Create a WordPress Theme that everyone will use. It works. The catch is, you won’t be admitted into the Technorati Top Listing.

Thanks for your comments Edrei.. I’m just giving some tips on getting better PR and technorati ranks.. Hopefully that can bring some traffic to one’s site. On the content side, if it is good contents, I think there will be readers who likes to read it right? But I do agree with your point. πŸ˜‰

hmm.. I don’t get this… mind to explain more? thanks!

Well think about it. Take a look at your theme right now at the footer. Who is it linked to at the moment? Now you take everyone who has downloaded and used this theme and you got yourself hundreds and possibly thousands of people who are linked to your blog. Same goes for every successful theme.

Technorati knows this though. You won’t be listed under the Top Blogs, but it will raise your ranking though.

I just thought I’d stop by and say hi: I’m one of your neighbors on 2000 bloggers, right above you.

I’ve been rooting around for info on raising the page rank and rankings too. I get too caught up in just writing my page though; I’d rather write a post than pump in a bunch of extra keywords for Google or swap links obsessively. Edrei’s got it right. Good stuff has poor rankings, while some poorly written, goofy stuff makes the upper ranks through link swapping. What are you gonna do?

Interesting comments, why ppl wanted to increase pagerank?
Cos they want more traffic to their blog.
To increase pagerank, these is many matters. One of them is what the blog owner have mention ~ backlinks and others like if you like to write, you may send your writing to articles blog and if they like it they link it to their blog. At least those who link to your blog from the articles submittion is those who have the same interest as yours πŸ™‚ But of course keywords is the most important things when you write something at your blog, this is all I have done for my blog..^_^..

By the way, I heard Edrei talk about themes!!! What is it all about as I don’t understand, mind to advise?

    Thanks
