Cos they want more traffic to their blog. To increase pagerank, these is many matters. One of them is what the blog owner have mention ~ backlinks and others like if you like to write, you may send your writing to articles blog and if they like it they link it to their blog. At least those who link to your blog from the articles submittion is those who have the same interest as yours :) But of course keywords is the most important things when you write something at your blog, this is all I have done for my blog..^_^.. Now you take everyone who has downloaded and used this theme and you got yourself hundreds and possibly thousands of people who are linked to your blog. Same goes for every successful theme.
