Staska.net had compiled a list of the top 30 WordPress plugins in blogosphere. The list is done by votes from 48 bloggers on their favorite plugins.
The list is based on the Lists of favorite Wordpress plugins, made by Lorelle last month. Lorelle found 48 lists with a total of 280 plugins that were recommended by other bloggers to their readers.
So I went through all those lists and compiled a spreadsheet of the mentioned plugins to see which of them were the most used in blogosphere.
So how many plugins among the top 30 that you used so far? I’ve used at least 15 among those, from the most popular plugins like Akismet, Google Sitemap Generator, and Related posts to those at the bottom like WP-Page Navi plugin. Many might not agree with the ranking of the plugins but what the heck, Staska had done a great job of compiling them into a list right?
I wrote a post on how to reduce Mozilla Firefox memory usage sometime ago and now I found a few more tweaks that can make your Firefox go faster. You will need to edit the configurations in Firefox by typing about:config in the address bar. Hopefully these few tricks can improve your browsing experience

in My Blog.
It was a frustrating day yesterday. I was having my Cisco Certified Network Associate Certification 1 (CCNA 1) final test at 6pm, but there was no electricity since I woke up at 11am. Damn it, all my notes were in my harddrive!! I have no access to the notes so I thought of going to the computer lab in the University after lunch if still out of electricity. As predicted, the power is not up yet after lunch.
There is something about the terms we have in the country. When you see banners in the University saying “Towards World Class Universities“, do not, I mean DO NOT take the words for it. I went to my faculty’s computer lab after lunch, 3 of them, all closed! “Ok, maybe it’s still lunch time…
” I thought. So I waited, and waited, until 2.30pm. All 3 labs were still closed! Since when do these technicians get to have such long lunch break huh???

I gave up and immediately
thought of another computer lab nearby. The computer lab in Centre for Information & Communication Technology (CICT) building. I quickly drove my car over the building and rush into the lab. Remember that the test is at 6pm meaning that I still have 3hours+ to revise it! And guess what? The lab was closed as well! I actually can see some of those students who were waiting there looked like this…

Without any choice left, I drove my car up to the hills to the library. The library has more than 100 computers for students use but I put it as my last choice. Why?
- It’s super far from the car park and my faculty.
- I need to waste a lot of energy and sweat a lot by walking to the library because it is situated up on the hill.
- I can park my car up on the hill but with the risk of getting summoned with parking tickets. (Students are not allowed to park there)
In the end, I parked my car up on the hill and used the computers in the library. Spent whole afternoon reading the notes from the monitor, and got well prepared for the test. 5.45pm, time to go to the Computer Science Faculty to sit for the test. So I drove my car (FYI, the campus is really big that I need to drive around, to prevent from sweating..
) to the faculty. Right when I walking towards the lift, I saw a notice on the notice board…
CCNA class canceled due to power outage. Replacement class on next Thurs.

in Adsense.
Adsense is launching a new referral program called Adsense Referrals which is still under beta. The program is basically based on CPA (Cost Per Action) clicks which is totally different from normal CPC (Cost Per Click) ads.
How CPA Works?

You get to select which kind of ads to show on your website, based on the categories your site is in.

One way of getting your readers back to your blog is by sending them a “Thanks for commenting” email after they comment on your blog for the first time. This is what Comment Relish plugin does.
Comment relish is a Wordpress plugin developed to send an e-mail message to users who comment on your website who have never commented before. The message dispatched to the user is defined within the plugin’s preferences. Numerous tags have been integrated to allow for information to be included in the message easily (I.E.: timestamp, author name, comment, ETC.).
Readers tend to leave your blog after commenting and never come back. By sending them an email for thanking them on commenting on your blog, you get a chance to gain return readers and possibly subscribers to your feeds. That’s great isn’t it?
For installation instructions, please visit the author’s site.
