WordPress 2.1.1 Hacked! Upgrade 2.1.2 Now~

wordpressI received a mail from my web hosting asking me to upgrade my wordpress version if I’m using WordPress 2.1.1. It appears that a hacker had gained user-level access to one of the servers that powers wordpress.org, and had used that access to modify the download file.

Although not all downloads of 2.1.1 were affected, WordPress team are declaring the entire version dangerous and have released a new version 2.1.2 that includes minor updates and entirely verified files. So update immediately if you are using version 2.1.1. Hopefully this will not happen again. Damn hackers!~

Chinese New Year Photos~

In case you are wondering why there were no photos from the Chinese New Year this year, keep on wondering then. Because I myself don’t understand why as well~! :p Maybe those traditions that forbid me from celebrating CNY kept me from taking any photos with friends. Never mind then because my sister did took some photos with her new DSLR – Nikon D40.

Cny

Sorry Sis, I stole your photo from your blog~! Haha! Click on the photo to get a larger view.

As you can see from the photos, CNY was boring that’s why we ended up playing mahjong everyday. Then others were the food my dad cooked. My niece is already 9 months old and is now able to stand on her own with her hands holding on the table. The center photo is the most famous food from Teluk Intan, Chu Cheong Fun! You won’t find any Chu Cheong Fun like this anywhere in Malaysia other than Teluk Intan. But it was damn expensive. 1 packet costs RM3.40! For something that you can’t find anywhere in Malaysia, I think you will say it worth it after you taste it. I miss Chu Cheong Fun man!

WordPress Plugin: MyAvatar~

If you are a MyBlogLog user that have been commenting in this blog recently, you will notice that your MyBlogLog avatar will appear just beside your comments. How do I do it? Just use this WordPress plugin, MyAvatar.

This plugin will show users’ MyBlogLog avatar beside their comments in your blog. In my opinion, it is much better than Gravatar, another plugin that requires user to upload their own avatar to your server in order to show their avatar beside their comments. Who will want to upload their avatar to every blog they comment to? :)

Wondering how to install this plugin? Just add this code,

<?php if(function_exists("MyAvatars")) MyAvatars(); ?>

in your comments loop in your comments.php file of the theme you are using. For more instruction, visit the author’s site.

You will need to edit the stylesheet if you want the avatar to show at the places you desired. I tried making the avatars to show up just before the name of the commenters but still got a little bit of error. Anyone can help out here? :)

Holiday Mode Over~

The holiday mode of this blog is finally over! I had a long 2 weeks of holidays since my last post and now I’m back in business again~ In the past 2 weeks, lots of things happened. Now I’m back, I had hundreds of emails and RSS posts to read on, which I don’t think I can finish it in 1 day time. Other than that, tens of assignments and exams piled up thanks to the holiday. I have to finish everything within this week I think. So let’s recap what happened in the last 2 weeks shall we?

It was Valentine’s Day on the 14th of February. My gf and I were thinking of celebrating the day but then her cousin called up and asked us for her company’s new year dinner. There goes our Valentine’s dinner but it was great with great food. After that, I spent a few days staying in KL and then went back to my hometown, Teluk Intan on the 16th of February. On the 17th of February, it was Chinese New Year’s Eve where for the Chinese, the whole family gathered to have the reunion dinner. It was disastrous for my uncles and cousins because it took them almost 6 hours of long journey instead of 2 coming back from KL to Teluk Intan due to the traffic jam. Luckily I came back 1 day earlier huh? :) The purpose of the reunion dinner is to reunite the whole family by having a dinner together. So, 15 of us sat at a long table to have our dinner that night, chit chating all night long.

Chinese New Year is nothing but quiet this year. Firecrackers were banned and not even available from the smugglers. I remembered last time those smugglers even took photographs of the firecrackers and asking around at the food stalls for customers. But this year, everything was so quiet. There were even news saying that the police will fine the houseowners if they found red papers from the firecrackers at the doorsteps. Sigh.. I miss those Chinese New Year with lots of firecrackers sound. That’s the CNY atmosphere, not this… But this is just to prevent more people from getting hurt right? So basically its good for all of us.. hmm…

Another reason for being quiet this year is that I can’t celebrate CNY due to my grandfather passed away less than 1 year ago. The traditions forbid us to celebrate CNY so I stayed home everyday instead. I only went out to have supper with friends at Mamak stalls. Now, I’m back in Skudai again to continue my classes.

My new year wishes? I hope everything will be better this year! I need to graduate and get a good job~ ;)

Happy Valentine’s Day~

liam_heartbubbles.gifHappy Valentine’s Day everyone! This is the most important day for all the lovers, because… It’s Valentine’s Day! ;) I should be celebrating Valentine’s Day with my girl in KL now but I’ve wrote this post a few days before.

What is Valentine’s Day and why is it such an important day for all the couples and lovers out there? I found some explaination on Wikipedia…

Saint Valentine’s Day or Valentine’s Day is on February 14. It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other; sending Valentine’s cards, candy, or donations to charities, often anonymously. It is very common to present flowers on Valentine’s Day. The holiday is named after two men, both Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of “valentines”. Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten notes have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards. The Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year behind Christmas.

After 5 years of relationship with my girl, Shin, we only celebrated Valentine’s Day together once. We were apart most of the times during these sorts of big days. Finally we can celebrate this special day together again~! I want to spent the whole day just together with you and I just want to let you know that…

I LOVE YOU BABY~!!

MAY OUR RELATIONSHIP LAST FOREVER!!

Holiday Mode~

Starting from today, this blog will be in holiday mode. Why? Because I am having my mid term break starting from today, for one week. Then, I’ll be having another one week of Chinese New Year holiday. Yippie!~ This is what people started working can’t get, lots of holidays.

I won’t be going anywhere this coming Chinese New Year. In Chinese traditions, it is said that if one of your close relative past away less than one year ago during Chinese New Year, you are not allowed to visit other relatives. My grandfather past away less than a year ago that’s why this year I’m not going to Bidor to visit my grandma. How I miss my grandma! It is ok then, we the whole family should have a rest at home instead.

Actually the main problem that I cannot continue blogging is that I don’t have internet access at home. I’ll be in KL for a few days first then head back to Teluk Intan. The only internet access that I have at home is dial-up internet which is so slow. Hopefully I can blog something about Chinese New Year using that slow connection at home. In the mean time, there won’t be any post on this blog.

Enough said, Happy Holiday everyone!
