This is my final semester of studying in UTM and of course I need to finish up my final year project in order to graduate. My project is titled “Embedded Ethernet” and I have to gather up all my hardware on my own. I had spent quite some time going to and back from Johor Bahru just to get my hardwares. The ATMEL microcontroller is very rare and needed to order from some suppliers. Luckily the boss of the electronic shop in JB was kindly helpful to help me order it.
So what is my current progress now? The hardware is almost done actually. Spent some hours “researching” on the schematic diagram and then soldering all the components onto the donut board. I think I have done something quite risky because I soldered the whole circuit onto the donut board without doing any test first on a PCB board. Why? Because I don’t have a PCB board and I don’t want to spend more money buying it. Kind of broke already.. haha.. So this is how the whole circuit looks like now.
The software part is the toughest actually. But the TCP/IP stack was already supplied by the website I bought the Packet Whacker from. So I just need to go through with what they developed on it. Unfortunately, since this stupid ATMEL microcontroller is so damn rare, I can’t find a programmer to program it. Damn!~ Never mind, I’ve found the solution from the internet and the components of building it is just less than RM10.
So yesterday my housemates and I went to the electronic components shop in Tmn U to buy those components. They just moved to a new shop today and we happened to be one of the first batch of customers haha~ There were some buffet style meals provided and we were forced to “tapao” those food back to eat it. How funny is that?? In the end, the 3 of us had an early super full dinner (around 4.30pm) at home at the cost of just RM10. Woohoo~! Enough of this.. Time for me to build up that stupid programmer. Anyone have a handrill that can lend me??

My oh my.. I can’t wait to get myself the final release of this version. Everything is said to be faster than the present version. I found that the Wordpress dashboard’s loading time is very slow, maybe due to it gathering informations on Wordpress I suppose..
Before you run WordPress 2.1 RC1, Boren.nu warns that
If you decide to try out the Release Candidate, please back up your database before upgrading. With a backup of your 2.0.x database you will be able to revert if RC1 does not work out for you. Once WordPress upgrades your database to 2.1, you cannot go back to your 2.0.x database unless you restore it from a backup.
You can download the RC1 version and get your hands on the latest version. Or, you can just sit back and upgrade to 2.0.7 while waiting for the final release of v2.1 in a few days. I think I’ll just stick with the current version and wait for the final release of v2.1 later.

Google is talking with military agencies in Iraq after learning that terrorists attacking British bases in Basra appear to have been using aerial footage from Google Earth to pinpoint strikes, according to the United Kingdom’s Daily Telegraph.
Among documents seized in raids on insurgents’ homes were printouts from photos taken from Google Earth that show the location of buildings, tents, latrines and lightly armored vehicles, the news site reported. On the back of one set of photos, someone had written the precise longitude and latitude of the Shatt Al Arab Hotel, where 1,000 Staffordshire Regiment soldiers are headquartered, the report said.

It was only 10 days when Wordpress 2.0.6 was launched and now there is an update on 2.0.7. The Wordpress team claimed that there is a bug in certain versions of PHP recently that could cause a security vulnerability in your blog. It is recommended that all Wordpress user to upgrade to this latest version.
Because this is a much smaller update than previous versions, you do not have to update all of WordPress’ files if you’re upgrading from version 2.0.6. Here is the list of files that have changed since 2.0.6:

Clicky is a new and unique web statistic service specially designed focusing on blogs. It monitors the traffic, details on visitors informations, sessions and what visitors click on on your website.
Upon registered as a user, you will get a javascript code to put into the pages that you want to track in your website. After that, just get into your clicky webpage and see the summary of all the trackings roll~! The summary is very detailed and it looks like this:
As you can see the tables shows a summary of how many visitors visits your site, how long they stayed at the site and what did they click on it. The details of these statistics are shown in single pages for more detailed informations. They even track what browsers and operating system the visitors used to open your site. ) All the services are currently free as Clicky is under still under beta. They are planning on charging a very reasonable fee after they launch.

It keeps raining non-stop since last Wednesday and this causes second wave of flood in many places. Kluang and Kota Tinggi had suffered the most serious flood ever. My friend from Kota Tinggi told me the water level had raised to 12 feet level which is more serious than the first wave. 
The latest news came out where lots of roads being closed due to the flood. 78,431 victims were placed in 315 relief centers and the numbers are increasing from time to time. The first wave had caused RM45million in infrastructure damage and now the second wave is causing a lot more since the flood now is much serious than the previous ones.
It was a miracle yesterday because there was no rain at all for the whole day. I think everyone was relieved thinking that the rain had finally stopped and clear weather will come after that. Unfortunately, its raining again now. Roads are filled with holes and hill slides are collapsing ever since the rain started. What a tragic moment for the Johorians.
What can we do about this? We should spare some money and donate to those victims as they really need it. The weather forecast said that the rain should stop by today. Hopefully its true and tomorrow will be a brighter day~ God bless us all!~
