Earth Hour 2009~

It started with a question: How can we inspire people to take action on climate change? Then in March 31 2007, the Earth Hour started with Sydney turning off it’s light for 1 hour. The whole world was inspired with it with more and more country joined in the party. Earth Hour 2008 was a success with 24 cities joined in.

This year, Earth Hour will be taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. You might think that turning off lights for just 1 hour will not make any difference at all, yet the main aim for this event is to create awareness among us all.

Malaysia will be one of the city that joined in the party this year. Let’s join in and turn off the light for one hour tonight at 8.30pm until 9.30pm. Let’s show the world that we can stay united!~

To those who thinks of taking advantage during this hour, remember that this is the Earth Hour, not Crime Hour ya.. ;)

Samsung Armani Winmo 6.5?!!~

samsung-armani-wm651.jpg

Holy cow!~ Samsung had came out with the new Samsung Armani series which comes with the new Windows Mobile 6.5 that will launched this fall!

Nah~ Just the folks from MobileCrunch came up with this after the news of an interview with the president of Samsung Electronics’ Taiwan. There is a brief mention of a Giorgio Armani phone powered by Windows Mobile which is enough to get their imagination to create this picture above.

Yet, Windows Mobile 6.5 is on the way. What’s your view on it? Can’t wait to get it running on my HTC Touch HD though~  :)

Seems like someone has turned 25 years old on the 25th of February 2009!~

Happy birthday to myself!~

Damn.. I’ve been hanging around with facebook more often than any website ever these days, except my gmail though. :)

My New Gadget~

imag0006.jpg

Got this new bulky gadget just few weeks ago. I had to trade in my old phone just to get a cheaper price for it though. So far so good! Kinda happy and worried to have an expensive gadget in my pocket all the time

Anyone out there bought this as well?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2009~

christmas_comment_graphic_10.gif

It’s the last festival of the year, Christmas is here! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!~

2008 finally reached the end and it has been so fast that the year had just passed by without noticed. Let’s see, what had I’ve done this year?

  1. Bought a HTC Touch Diamond PDA phone, but got snatched by snatched thieves last week. :(
  2. Went Pangkor Island for team building last October, had fun.
  3. Worked like a donkey. Job scope changed from monitoring to core network troubleshooting, then got promoted to be the back end support engineer. (Yippie, no more working on shifts!)

I can’t really recall much of what I’ve done this year. Probably I did not do anything much other than working like a donkey though. I really have to live my life to my fullest from now on!

My 2009 new year resolutions?

  1. Get converted to a permanent staff as a back end support engineer. (Hopefully)
  2. Get a new car – Honda city or Toyota Vios?
  3. Get a new PDA phone (HTC Touch HD?) and don’t get stolen again.
  4. Get a good camera.
  5. Go for an oversea trip!!!!
  6. Rock climbing in 1 Utama which my colleague kept asking me to go for.
  7. Get a Girlfriend!!! ( This is really hard though   )
  8. Live life to the fullest!
  9. Update my blog as often as possible!

Yup. These are the new year resolutions that I can think of now. Most are just simple resolutions that can be achieved easily heheh.. Yet you need something to aim for in your life isn’t it?

What’s your new year resolution? Mind to share? Again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!

Comic Fiesta 2008~

p10002982.JPG

It was last weekend when I went for the Comic Fiesta 2008 which was held in Sunway Pyramid convention centre. Being a first timer for attending such events, I was thrilled to found out that there are actually a lot of hardcore comic fans in this country   ! My friend had a booth there so I just went there to check out how these events are. It did opened up my eyes though.

First, there were so many cute little anime characters models (or do you call it miniature?) which are really cute!

Yet, my friend said that this one looks like me.. hmmm..

Erm.. I have no idea what this one below really means though..   I guess it’s up to your own imagination

And of course, what would the event be like if there are no cosplay models around? It will be super bored for sure! Well, we managed to take photos with some of the models on that day. It’s amazing how they really dressed up to be like the anime characters.

Look at her face.. she was really tired holding that magic staff for really long time because a lot of people was taking her photo.

Skyfire – Best Mobile Web Browser?~

logo1.gifHave you ever browse to any websites on your phone, and found that you cannot load the site due to the incompatibility of your phone’s web browser? Websites that used a lot of flash plugins especially like youtube.com normally cannot be loaded via a normal phone web browser due to the flash / java version not supported by the browsers.

skyfire.PNGTry out Skyfire today. Skyfire is a free, downloadable mobile web browser that allows you to experience the internet on your phone exactly like on your PC. Now, you can use the full web from your mobile phone with unprecedented speed and simplicity – without the typical restrictions and limitations that current ‘mobile web’ efforts offer. This means you can open up websites like youtube, myspace, facebook just the same like what you see on your PC. Why? This is because Skyfire supports almost all plugins that these websites requires. Isn’t that fun?

Some may argue that new versions of Opera browser works like Skyfre too. But in my own experience, Opera will go very sluggish once flash components are loaded, which is a no no for me. :)

How to get Skyfire?

Currently Skyfire is still under open BETA versions and only available for people who lives in US only. However, there are tricks for you to get a hold on it for those outside of US.

First, you need to sign up for open BETA and register. You will need to key in your email and your US mobile phone number. Don’t worry though, I’ve tried keying in all sorts of number just to fill the column and it actually works! Then select the type of phone that you have.

Once you successfully registered, you will receive an email with the details just like below.

step1.jpg

Select Download to PC and you will be redirected to another page.

step2.jpg

Key in your password same as the one you registered and submit. You will be taken to a page with the download link.

step3.jpg

Download the file to your PC and transfer it to your mobile phone. You can install the application just by clicking on the file in your phone. There you have it, Skyfire on your phone! :)

This method only works for PDA phone. For symbian phones, I guess you will have to try it yourselves since I’m not sure whether u can download it into your phone and install it. But I guess the steps are just the same though~

The sad part is, Skyfire does not support VGA screen phones yet. So if you are using phones like HTC Touch Diamond, forget about getting it now because once you launch the application, you’ll only see the browser appears in half of your screen.

Have you been using Skyfire? Tell us about your experience will ya?
